The Funny things that Cameron says and does!

Cameron is so funny.

So yesterday he shows Becca the Curious George DVD case and says, "look mom, cheese". Becca though that there was a picture of cheese on the cover or something. Then Cameron proceeds to open the DVD case, and there was a piece of cheese IN the DVD case. (maybe he was saving it for later). It was one of those Kraft singles, so it was still in the wrapper. It was so funny, I wish I could have been there.

Then today, I didn't get to see him very much because I had class, and he has pre-school. So when I got home it was time for his nap and so I went to go talk to him. I asked him how pre-school was and he said it was good. I asked him what he learned about and he said shapes. So I say, "What is your favorite shape?" He pauses for a second and says, "A star!" Then I asked him why, and he says, "Because it goes in the balloon in the sky out the window." And I say, "cool!" Then I ask what his second favorite shap is, and right away he says "Oval!". I asked him why, and he says, "Because it goes in the balloon in the sky out the window." Then I crack up and so does he. What a goof!

Creed

Here are some pictures and videos of the Creed concert! It was a blast!!! They were so awesome!

Our Seats. We had front row in this same section,
but couldn't see, so we were able to move up! These were much better.

Here are some videos. The sound isn't really good on these, but they did sound Awesome!!!! (remember to pause my playlist)

What an awesome concert!!! I've always wanted to go to a Creed concert. Last time they were supposed to come to Utah (before the Olympics), a dang lady rear ended the lead singer so they had to cancel. I was so mad! We already had our ticktets and they were like 2nd row! I'm glad they got back together. I'm excited for the new album Full Circle, released on Oct. 27th!!!

Venting Frustration

Can somebody please tell my why our society is so messed up? There are so many things that I could post, but I'm not going to. One thing that is really messed up, in my opinion, is our nation's public school system, especially here in Utah. I started my classes yesterday for the new semester, and one of my teachers currently teaches at East High School. His previous teaching job was at a private school in Salt Lake. He told us during class that every year at the private school, they would receive new books, and then basically throw them out the next year or two because "no one wanted them". He told us that in his new class of 40 students, they only had 10 books for the whole classroom! Is there something wrong with this picture? Education is one of the most important things that we can receive in this life. How are our kids supposed to receive a proper education when there aren't even enough text books for each student to have? In my opinion, our society has their priorities messed up. It seems like we care about entertainment more than our students' education. I love sports and entertainment, but why in the world do we spend billions of dollars on that and hardly anything on schools? I don't care if I don't get paid much being a teacher (because obviously I'm not doing it for the money), but don't make my students suffer and have inadequate materials so they wont be able to learn all they can. I know having every single school receive the same adequate funds is probably not going to happen any time soon. There has been talk by the legislature for years about increasing per pupil spending and increasing teachers' salaries. But when is it actually going to happen? Who knows. Until then, I will do all I can as a teacher to make sure that our students, who are our future, receive the proper education that they deserve. That's my opinion anyway. What do you think?

Fun with Photoshop!

Here are some of the pictures that I have done for my class. The first picture is the original, and the second is the one that I edited with Photoshop. It is a lot of fun!!! I am by no means great, but I have fun!

Cameron Playing in the Pool

Black and White Cameron Playing in the Pool...where's the ball?

Here is my final project. My assignment was to make a tableau. For those who don't know, a tableau in this case is a picture of a scene that tells a story in just one picture. I decided to do the end of a chess game. Check Mate! (I played my sister Megan, and this was the first time she had ever played, and she won! Good job Megan!)

Here is the original:
Here is the final product with edits done in Photoshop.

So anyways. They aren't great because I'm still learning the program. I'm going to be sad when I can't use Photoshop anymore when I graduate...unless I spend a fortune for it. Anywho, tell me what you think! Have a great day!

4 months later...

So it's been a while since I've blogged. I have been busy with work and school and family, that I just didn't think about it. A lot has happened since I blogged last. The kids have grown and developed so much, it kind of makes me sad. I don't want them to get too big too fast. Here is a recent picture of Allie.

She's so adorable! I can't believe how big she is getting.

Here is a picture of Cameron.

He is so hilarious!!!!

Classes are going well. I'm taking 3 right now during the summer. One is an online History class about early western civilizations in the Middle East, Europe, East Asia, and Africa. It's pretty time intensive, but I'm learning a lot. Another one is a teaching course called Data and Assessment Decision Making. It isn't too bad. And I'm taking a digital photography class. That class is so fun. I'm learning how to take good pictures using proper composition styles and techniques. I'm am by no means great, but some of them have turned out alright. I'm learning how to edit them using photoshop. (Luckily it is free to use on campus, because it's like a $600 program.) Here are just some of the pictures I've used for my assignments.

I'll try to keep this updated more frequently rather than every 4 months. I am going to get myself a nice new camera so I can take some cool pictures. I'll post some of the ones that turn out well. Have a nice day!

Nap time on Sunday

So Becca and the kids are taking a nap, so I thought I would do a new post, since I haven't in a long time. I can't believe how fast Allie is growing up. She'll be 2 months old next week. Cameron is a handfull, but I love him soo much! He learned how to climb out of his crib, but suprisingly has done okay with is "new bed" (his crib with the side off). He fell out of it last night though and bumped his head pretty hard. Poor little dude! So we put his matress on the floor and he's doing pretty well. He's been napping for about 2 hours! Anywho...here are some recent pics of us!

Allie!!!

The past couple of days have been quite an adventure. Running back and forth from school and the hospital, chasing Cameron, trying to study, remembering how to hold a newborn again, and much more. But, I've had the best time. I didn't think it was possible to love someone as much as I love Cameron. Allie is so precious and I lover her just as much as I love Cameron. Becca and I are both much more comfortable with Allie than we were with Cameron. I love Allie so much. I love her dark hair, her dimple on her left cheek, the way she snorts when she gets mad, and just everything about her. I'm so proud of Becca for doing so well. I love you sweeite!!!

Here are some pics from the hospital:Our first family picture

Our new purchase

So today Becca and I splurged and bought a brand new TV!!! This is one of the first new things that we have bought in a while. We were able to use some Christmas money that we got (thanks everyone!). It is a Philips 32 inch flat screen LCD HDTV. It's pretty cool. I'm excited to play my games on it! Anyway...here is a picture of it.

Tunnel Monster!!!!!!

So Cameron and I have a new game called the Tunnel Monster. When we are driving on I-215, we drive under many over-passes. Cameron calls them tunnels. Today while we were driving, I would tell him that the tunnel monster would get him when we drive under them. I would stick my arm behind the seat, and when we drove under it, I would grab his leg and tickle it. He would freak out and want me to to it again. He was sad when there were no more tunnels. We'll have to get it on video one of these days. I'll post a video of it when we do!

Today is a beautiful day outside so we will probably go to the Zoo and ride the train (hopefully it is open today). There is a big long tunnel when you ride the train. Watch out Cameron....the tunnel monster is going to get you!!!!

Picture Tag

No one tagged me specifically, but Becca said I should do it. (And I have to do what ever she says). Since Becca did one and used the 4th file and the 4th picture, I am going to do the 6th file and the 6th picture.

This is Cameron when he was about 11 months old. He's so cute. It is fun to go back and see his older pictures and see how much he has changed. I love our little Crammon.

Ni-nite...Cameron's new game

So Cameron has a new game, which is very fun to play. In this game, Cameron is the boss. When he says "ni-night", we have to stop what we are doing and close our eyes. We can't move until he roars or scares us. If we do move before he scares us he keeps saying "ni-nite, ni-nite, ni-nite". It's really fun! He's so hilarious. We also found out that he does it when we are annoying him in some way. For example, when I pick him up and swing him around, (which he normally likes) and he doesn't want me to, he says "ni-nite" and I have to put him down. Then he runs away. It's fun stuff! I love Crammon!

I done got tagged...again. (we watch too much Cars)

So my cousin Kasie (check our hers, she's crazy! j/k) tagged me. These are 7 random/weird facts about me...

1) I have severe arachnophobia. Well, maybe just moderate to severe (depending on the size and kind of spider). I am not scared of daddy long legs at all, but I hate all others. This is funny because on my mission, we used to catch them and feed them roaches. If I were to go back to Korea and see these spiders that we caught, I would probably freak out. They were pretty big. Their bodies were probably about 2 or 3 inches and their legs were about 4. They were long, yellow and black, and their heads were silver, and if you get close enough, they looked like skulls (seriously). Way freaky. Another weird thing is that I can look at pictures, but when they are real, I can't. Here is what they look like:

2) I like the feeling of being scared when I watch scary movies, but I hate haunted houses or anything that is real and right in front of me.

3) I'm obsessed with killing people in video games, but in real life, I wouldn't hurt a fly.

4) When I was younger, one of my nicknames was Hollywood because my hair had to be perfect. I don't care as much now though... (this is Becca, he DOES care as much now....)

5) I used to could do a purty good Sean Connery impersonation, but I lost it. I don't know why, but I just can't do it very good anymore.

6) I'm obsessed with the word indubitably. When I was little, like 5 or 6, there was a Crispy Critters cereal commercial that had the word indubitably in it. It's awesome. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bmIKrU2jQU

7) And finally.....I can squeak. Yes, it is true, I can make a really high pitched sound from my throat. If you wan to hear it, you have to ask me to to it...and give me a dollar!

Well, that just a few of the many weird things about me. I tag, Becca, Mom, Dad, Missy, Casey, and Mallory. Have a good day.

I love Cameron!

I never imagined how much I could love somebody. Cameron is my favorite pal. He's sooo hilarious. I love his little personality. He has the cutest smile and the best laugh I have ever seen and heard. (Thanks Becca!) He gets all of his good qualities from him mother. He make me smile everyday. Though there are times I get mad at him, all I have to do is see his innocent little face and everything is okay. How could you not smile when you see his face!? It is physically impossible.

A Hero for Education

Today in my multicultural education we watch a film called Road to Brown. It was about the segregation that the African-Americans faced in the 1950s. The main case the we learned about was Brown vs. Board of Education. This man, Charles Hamilton Houston played a major role in preparing for this case, which led to the desegregation of schools and equal educational opportunities for African-American students, for the most part. I just couldn't imagine being a teacher back then, and seeing these black students not receiving the best education possible. They showed film of these students before the case, and after. You could really tell the difference just in their faces when they combined and were equal. This case overthrew the Plessy v. Ferguson case which stated that as long as the separate facilities for the separate races were "equal," the segregation did not violate the Fourteenth Amendment ("no state shall... deny to any person... the equal protection of the laws.") To me, "separate, but equal" contradicts itself. How could you possibly say that these kids were receiving "equal" education when they had separate schools. That is just ridiculous. I'm sure many people don't know who Charles Houston is. I didn't until today. But he has become a hero to me.

Another thing. I don't understand why this was even an issue when Congress passed the 14th Amendment more the 50 years earlier. As stated above, it guaranteed equal protection of the law to each American citizen. Weren't these people concidered citizens? I think they were. Anyway. It is sad that we still live in a world were people face racial discrimination. I live up to what our Founding Fathers said in the Constitution, that all men are created equal. We shouldn't judge people based on their race, or what I would rather call it, ethnicity. We are all of the same race. We are all human. Well, that's all I have to say about that...

Oh no....were in a financial crisis....wait...no were not, really!

Sure, we may be in a "financial crisis" according to the media, but just as Dave Ramsey says, everyone needs to take a chill pill. Check out this article about Dave's thoughts about the economy. He makes a good point that the one in the early 80s was worse than this one, and hey look, we are still alive. Anywho, that's my thoughts about this anyway. If anyone is concerned with what is happening, you should read Dave's article. Go Dave!

Vacation Fun

We just got home from our little vacation. It was a blast. It was fun seeing everyone, especially Sam! That kid is awesome. We went down to Glenwood, which is about 5 miles east of Richfield. We got down there on Sunday evening. The next morning we got up early and went to Fish Lake for some fishing. It was fun. We caught 5 pretty good size ones. I caught two, and Sam, with some help with Larry, caught three. And I actually cleaned one of them...not a very pleasant experience. Then when we got back to Glenwood, we went on a 2 hour four-wheeling ride. It was a lot of fun.

Then we went back up to Becca's parents house and Sam and I played a lot of Halo and Star Wars Battlefront. It was so much fun. I'm glad I finally got a chance to play video games! I'm not going to write all of the details of the vacation because Becca already did at her blog.

Other news.....I finished Harry Potter!!! I can't believe how great book 7 was. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it...but if anyone want to talk about it, leave a comment. I'm having mixed feelings though. I am so glad to be done with it because I knwo the whole story...but I didn't want it to end!!! (if that makes any sense). I know the story had to end sometimes, and I think J. K. Rowling did a very good job. I'm going to start reading the Fable Haven series. I heard they are pretty good. I just got home from basketball, and I can never fall asleep after I play for like 1 or 2 hours, so I think I'm going to start reading it!

Friday, August 1, 2008

Finally!!!

I'm finally all finished with my finals!!! It feels so good!! I'm excited to finally have a break!!! I can finally finish reading Harry Potter book 7. I'm going to start the Fable Haven series that I got for my b-day, and hopefully the Lord of the Rings series as well.

We are going on a vacation this next week!! I can't wait. I get to hang out with my nephew Sam, and play video games!!! I'll take some pictures and post some later.

Dueling Guitars

(Be sure to pause my playlist)

This is a flippin' sweet clip from August Rush. I love playing the guitar (even though I'm not that good). I love this movie. It reminds me of my nephew Sam. That kid is a genius. He composed and directed a symphony for his school, and he's only 12. I'm excited to hang out with him in August. I finally get some time off. He is going to visit for a few days from New Orleans. We are going to go see the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight and play video games!!! I'm so exited.

I went to a Journey concert tonight and it rocked. The guitarist is amazing. I wish I could play like that. We are also going to the John Mayer concert in a couple of weeks. I'm so excited. He is also a great guitar player. Anyways, I'm off to bed.
