Tunnel Monster!!!!!!

So Cameron and I have a new game called the Tunnel Monster. When we are driving on I-215, we drive under many over-passes. Cameron calls them tunnels. Today while we were driving, I would tell him that the tunnel monster would get him when we drive under them. I would stick my arm behind the seat, and when we drove under it, I would grab his leg and tickle it. He would freak out and want me to to it again. He was sad when there were no more tunnels. We'll have to get it on video one of these days. I'll post a video of it when we do!

Today is a beautiful day outside so we will probably go to the Zoo and ride the train (hopefully it is open today). There is a big long tunnel when you ride the train. Watch out Cameron....the tunnel monster is going to get you!!!!

Picture Tag

No one tagged me specifically, but Becca said I should do it. (And I have to do what ever she says). Since Becca did one and used the 4th file and the 4th picture, I am going to do the 6th file and the 6th picture.

This is Cameron when he was about 11 months old. He's so cute. It is fun to go back and see his older pictures and see how much he has changed. I love our little Crammon.

Ni-nite...Cameron's new game

So Cameron has a new game, which is very fun to play. In this game, Cameron is the boss. When he says "ni-night", we have to stop what we are doing and close our eyes. We can't move until he roars or scares us. If we do move before he scares us he keeps saying "ni-nite, ni-nite, ni-nite". It's really fun! He's so hilarious. We also found out that he does it when we are annoying him in some way. For example, when I pick him up and swing him around, (which he normally likes) and he doesn't want me to, he says "ni-nite" and I have to put him down. Then he runs away. It's fun stuff! I love Crammon!

I done got tagged...again. (we watch too much Cars)

So my cousin Kasie (check our hers, she's crazy! j/k) tagged me. These are 7 random/weird facts about me...

1) I have severe arachnophobia. Well, maybe just moderate to severe (depending on the size and kind of spider). I am not scared of daddy long legs at all, but I hate all others. This is funny because on my mission, we used to catch them and feed them roaches. If I were to go back to Korea and see these spiders that we caught, I would probably freak out. They were pretty big. Their bodies were probably about 2 or 3 inches and their legs were about 4. They were long, yellow and black, and their heads were silver, and if you get close enough, they looked like skulls (seriously). Way freaky. Another weird thing is that I can look at pictures, but when they are real, I can't. Here is what they look like:

2) I like the feeling of being scared when I watch scary movies, but I hate haunted houses or anything that is real and right in front of me.

3) I'm obsessed with killing people in video games, but in real life, I wouldn't hurt a fly.

4) When I was younger, one of my nicknames was Hollywood because my hair had to be perfect. I don't care as much now though... (this is Becca, he DOES care as much now....)

5) I used to could do a purty good Sean Connery impersonation, but I lost it. I don't know why, but I just can't do it very good anymore.

6) I'm obsessed with the word indubitably. When I was little, like 5 or 6, there was a Crispy Critters cereal commercial that had the word indubitably in it. It's awesome. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bmIKrU2jQU

7) And finally.....I can squeak. Yes, it is true, I can make a really high pitched sound from my throat. If you wan to hear it, you have to ask me to to it...and give me a dollar!

Well, that just a few of the many weird things about me. I tag, Becca, Mom, Dad, Missy, Casey, and Mallory. Have a good day.

I love Cameron!

I never imagined how much I could love somebody. Cameron is my favorite pal. He's sooo hilarious. I love his little personality. He has the cutest smile and the best laugh I have ever seen and heard. (Thanks Becca!) He gets all of his good qualities from him mother. He make me smile everyday. Though there are times I get mad at him, all I have to do is see his innocent little face and everything is okay. How could you not smile when you see his face!? It is physically impossible.

A Hero for Education

Today in my multicultural education we watch a film called Road to Brown. It was about the segregation that the African-Americans faced in the 1950s. The main case the we learned about was Brown vs. Board of Education. This man, Charles Hamilton Houston played a major role in preparing for this case, which led to the desegregation of schools and equal educational opportunities for African-American students, for the most part. I just couldn't imagine being a teacher back then, and seeing these black students not receiving the best education possible. They showed film of these students before the case, and after. You could really tell the difference just in their faces when they combined and were equal. This case overthrew the Plessy v. Ferguson case which stated that as long as the separate facilities for the separate races were "equal," the segregation did not violate the Fourteenth Amendment ("no state shall... deny to any person... the equal protection of the laws.") To me, "separate, but equal" contradicts itself. How could you possibly say that these kids were receiving "equal" education when they had separate schools. That is just ridiculous. I'm sure many people don't know who Charles Houston is. I didn't until today. But he has become a hero to me.

Another thing. I don't understand why this was even an issue when Congress passed the 14th Amendment more the 50 years earlier. As stated above, it guaranteed equal protection of the law to each American citizen. Weren't these people concidered citizens? I think they were. Anyway. It is sad that we still live in a world were people face racial discrimination. I live up to what our Founding Fathers said in the Constitution, that all men are created equal. We shouldn't judge people based on their race, or what I would rather call it, ethnicity. We are all of the same race. We are all human. Well, that's all I have to say about that...

Oh no....were in a financial crisis....wait...no were not, really!

Sure, we may be in a "financial crisis" according to the media, but just as Dave Ramsey says, everyone needs to take a chill pill. Check out this article about Dave's thoughts about the economy. He makes a good point that the one in the early 80s was worse than this one, and hey look, we are still alive. Anywho, that's my thoughts about this anyway. If anyone is concerned with what is happening, you should read Dave's article. Go Dave!

Vacation Fun

We just got home from our little vacation. It was a blast. It was fun seeing everyone, especially Sam! That kid is awesome. We went down to Glenwood, which is about 5 miles east of Richfield. We got down there on Sunday evening. The next morning we got up early and went to Fish Lake for some fishing. It was fun. We caught 5 pretty good size ones. I caught two, and Sam, with some help with Larry, caught three. And I actually cleaned one of them...not a very pleasant experience. Then when we got back to Glenwood, we went on a 2 hour four-wheeling ride. It was a lot of fun.

Then we went back up to Becca's parents house and Sam and I played a lot of Halo and Star Wars Battlefront. It was so much fun. I'm glad I finally got a chance to play video games! I'm not going to write all of the details of the vacation because Becca already did at her blog.

Other news.....I finished Harry Potter!!! I can't believe how great book 7 was. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it...but if anyone want to talk about it, leave a comment. I'm having mixed feelings though. I am so glad to be done with it because I knwo the whole story...but I didn't want it to end!!! (if that makes any sense). I know the story had to end sometimes, and I think J. K. Rowling did a very good job. I'm going to start reading the Fable Haven series. I heard they are pretty good. I just got home from basketball, and I can never fall asleep after I play for like 1 or 2 hours, so I think I'm going to start reading it!

Finally!!!

I'm finally all finished with my finals!!! It feels so good!! I'm excited to finally have a break!!! I can finally finish reading Harry Potter book 7. I'm going to start the Fable Haven series that I got for my b-day, and hopefully the Lord of the Rings series as well.

We are going on a vacation this next week!! I can't wait. I get to hang out with my nephew Sam, and play video games!!! I'll take some pictures and post some later.

Dueling Guitars

(Be sure to pause my playlist)

This is a flippin' sweet clip from August Rush. I love playing the guitar (even though I'm not that good). I love this movie. It reminds me of my nephew Sam. That kid is a genius. He composed and directed a symphony for his school, and he's only 12. I'm excited to hang out with him in August. I finally get some time off. He is going to visit for a few days from New Orleans. We are going to go see the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight and play video games!!! I'm so exited.

I went to a Journey concert tonight and it rocked. The guitarist is amazing. I wish I could play like that. We are also going to the John Mayer concert in a couple of weeks. I'm so excited. He is also a great guitar player. Anyways, I'm off to bed.

I love TENNIS!!!

I love tennis! I wish I could play it everyday. My favorite tournament is Wimbldon. It was always one of my dreams do play in it....heheh...but it is just that...a Dream. Oh well. At least Becca plays tennis with me. She is better than I am. We actually played tennis on our second date (and she beat me!) She says that I let her win, but I really didn't. I'm so glad that I have someone to play with. My favorite player of all time is Pete Sampras.

He's amazing. I think my favorite for this tournament is Rodger Federer. He's been No. 1 for a long time, and he deserves it. He's also an amazing player. Anyway, sorry this is kind of a random post, but I turned it to NBC and Wimbledon is on! and Federer is playing! He is serving for the match....wait!!! actually, he just won! Sweet!!! He'll play on Friday in the Semifinals. I wish I could play like him.

OUCH....and Harry Potter!!!

I just finished Harry Potter 6. It is the best book I think that I have read. I can't believe what happened!!!!! (I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it)...but I didn't see it coming!!!...well, actually I did. Our friends were over at our house and we were playing a game and started talking about Harry Potter. He accidentally said the thing which I have been trying sooo hard not to find out until I read it. But it's okay. I didn't really think it happened, but when I read it for myself I was shocked! I can't believe it!!!!! I started book 7 that same night and got to chapeter 2. It's pretty good so far. I'm almost caught up to Becca. Anywho. I just took a gash out of my finger. I was washing dishes and somehow one of our cups broke and took a nice chunk out of my right index finger knuckle. I thought I was going to pass out because I got really light headed. Becca was up in Logan so I called her because I thought I was going to die!!! Just kidding. But I really did feel like I was going to pass out. Now it just stings and aches really bad! I hope I can play basketball tomorrow night. I doubt it though! Dang it!!! It's the only exercise I get!!! It just won't stop bleeding.

A lot of new news...

It's been a while since I've blogged. I've been very busy with school and work. I have so much homework, (mostly reading) and I'm already a little behind. I hope I can catch up. The summer semesters are shorter so they tack on a bunch of extra work. Oh well....It's interesting stuff at least.

So a lot has been happned since I posted last. First of all, my lovely wife is PREGNANT!!!! We are sooooo excited. I'M soo excited. I am excited for Cameron to have a little brother or sister. He's going to be such a good big brother

Cute little guy!!!
If you are looking for some cheap entertainment and want to laugh your head off, I would recoment watching Cars with the subtitles on. There are soooo many funny lines that you just don't hear when you just watch it. Becca and I watched it with Cameron and we were laughing sooo hard!!!! The best scene is when Lightning McQueen is just starting to pave the new road with Bessie after the court session, and Mater just goes off. You should listen to it and have the subtitles on. It's freakin' hilarious!!!

So I turned 25 today! Becca planned a party at my parents house and it was soo much fun!!!! We ate steak!!!! It was so good!!! Thanks mom, dad, and Becca!!!! You guys rock!!! I got some pretty cool presents. I got The Office seasons 1-3 on DVD. Thanks Becca! My parents and Megan got me the Fablehaven series. I'm looking forward to reading them. I'm still on Harry Potter book 6. It is getting very interesting. Becca made me my favorite cake...German Chocolate!!!! Yummy stuff!!! Thanks dude!!!

The Answer and story behind my question of the week...

My question of the week was: Which food DID I eat in Korea?

The answer is.....King crab brain.

It wasn't very tasty. In fact, I didn't know what it was until after I ate it. One of the families we were teaching took us out to dinner one evening. They said it was a surprise were we were going. We started walking through a fish market and I'm like, oh no!!! I didn't like fish very much. Well, we stopped at a King Crab stand, and Byung Gook (the guy we were teaching) told us to pick one. I couldn't even look at them...they were so big and nasty. We eventually picked one and then we took it to a near by Japanese restaurant were you bring your own food and they cooked it for us. While we were waiting, out come a huge plate full of Sushi. I had never tried it before, and I thought I was going to throw up. Then a few minutes later, out come the King Crab that we just bought who was alive 30 minutes earlier. Byung Gook tore off a huge leg and handed it to me and said, "eat up!" At the table there were some scissors and chop sticks. I had no idea how to eat it. I watched everyone else to find out how. They would use the scissors to cut up the outer shell of the leg and then use the chop sticks to dig out the meat. I hesitated, but finally gave it. It actually wasn't that bad. The meat tastes like buttery turkey! Not too bad at all. But then Byung Gook started cutting the head and the body up and eating it. He gave me some and said, "try some of this!" I tried it, and thought I was going to throw up! He then told me that it was the brain. I'm sure most of you have tasted the yoke of a hardboiled egg....well, the brain tasted like a very mushy, salty, egg yolk. It was gross!!!! It had the same texture. Sorry if I ruined everyones ability to eat hard boiled egg yolk. Sothis was the first meal that I had king crab and sushi at the same meal....I almost threw up by the end of the night.

eewwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

not as bad cooked

So tonight we ate a Korean dinner! It was soo good. We made some kimchi pogumbap. (Kimchi mixed in rice.) We also has some mahndoo (like pot stickers). And some seaweed!!! yum!!!! We are going to eat Korean foom more often.

Fun day in the...RAIN!

Today was Cameron/Daddy day. We went to the zoo this morning. It was a lot of fun, except for the rain. We started out by going to the playground. Then we just walked around and saw all of the animals. He wanted to see the zebras but they were inside while the zoo workers were cleaning. We saw the baby "ooraff" (giraffe). Cameron was so cute. We wanted to go on the train but it was closed because of the weather. We'll go again some other time and ride the train. It was fun eventhough it rained.

Day three of Lord of the Rings

We finished watching the last Lord of the Rings on Monday night. It was awesome! The extended version is so awesome. There is so much more information that is important to understand the whole story. My dad told me that they are coming out with The Hobbit movie. I'm looking forward to seeing it!!! I think I'm going to get the books and read them. I'm about half way done with Harry Potter book 6. It is awesome. I'm going to try to finish it this week before school starts.

here's a funny video (remember to pause the playlist at the bottom)

The Answer to my Question of the Week...and day two of Lord of the Rings

First off, let's start with day two of LOTR. I went over to my dad's house again to watch the second Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. It was cool. I had watched the regular, theatrical version a couple months ago...and I had forgotten how good it was. It was even better because nothing was cut and we heard the whole story. You learn so much more about all of it by wathing the extened version. There is also some things that is mentioned in the first episode that they don't in that movie, but they show it later on. It's cool how it all tie in together. Anyway....we are going to finish it tonight.

My Question of the Week was: How many hours was mine and Becca's first date?
The correct answer is....9 hours...

It was a great day! We actually didn't even plan on having a date that day. We were supposed to hang out with Sis. Pink as well. She had to cancel at the last minute, which was fine by me, because we got to spend the whole day together. I went down to her house in Salem. We went to Wendy's and then we went to go see a movie. It was Wimbledon, which was great because we both love tennis. We found out that we had a lot in common. Then it was time for me to head back home :( ..... but then she invited me to a BYU football game, and of course I said yes!!! I was so excited that she invited me. I was already wearing BYU color clothes anyway, so it worked out great. It was the best date ever...and the longest! I love Becca!!!!

Day one of Lord of the Rings...

So tonight, my dad and I watched the Fellowship of the Ring, the extra long version. It was awesome. I love watching it with my dad because he explains what is happening so I can understand it. We are going to try to finish all 3 by Monday.

The Answer to my question of the week...and other random suff

My question of the week was: Which Disney character am I good at impersonating?
The answer is.....Mater, from Cars!!!

I can do the teeth. I can kind of do his voice, but Becca is best at that. That's one of my favorite movies as well. I it sooo funny! Speaking of movies. We just watched Cloverfield. It was okay. It had a weird ending though. It wasn't that scary either.

I am pretty much done with this semester. I have to write 2 more papers and I'll be done for about a week and a half. Then I start summer sememster. I'm taking 15 credit hours. Hopefuly it goes okay. I excited for my break because I get to spend some time with my family. On Thursday the 8th, it is Cameron/Daddy day. I'm excited. I'm going to take him to the zoo, then we will play outside for a while. It's going to be great. This weekend, my dad and I are going to watch the Lord of the Rings series--the full length version. It is going to be awesome.

So today we went outside and Cameron ran around for about 3 hours. It was a long, but fun day outside. He had so much energy. Becca and I got tired just watching him. We love it here. There are so many nice couples that live here, and it is great. We have made so many new friends. Well, that's about all I have to say about that....bye!

The answer and story behind my question of the week...and other random stuff....

My question of the week was: What toy did we just discover that Cameron is deathly afraid of?
The answer is...a plastic walking zebra!!

So we were down at Becca's parents house last weekend, and we found out that Cameron doesn't like the walking zebra that grandma has. He is okay with it if it not moving, but once it moves, he runs away. It's really funny, but kind of sad. We love our little Cameroo. He's so funny!!! We'll try to get a video of is sometime.

So I have finals all week next week and then one the week after that, then I have about a week and a half break before I start summer semester. I am planning on taking a full load this summer, just to get done sooner. Anywho...hope you all have a good day.

The Answer to the question of the week...

Here is the answer to my question of the week: Which of the following did I NOT eat in Korea?
The answer is....steamed silkworm larvae or bundegi in Korean.

I never ate bundegi...and I never will. It is just sick and wrong. Becca never ate it either, because we wouldn't be able to get close enough to buy it anyway because it stunk up the whole street. It smells so bad!!!! I had dog a couple of times, and it isn't very good either. It tastes like old, bitter roast beef. I also ate pig intestines boiled in blood, or soondae. At first I liked it because I didn't know what it was, but once I found out I almost threw it all up and I could never bring myself to try it again. Becca said that she actually liked it when she didn't know what it was. And the last one, squid jerky, was my favorite. It was actually pretty good. There would be little side stands that sold it, and we would get some. Not too bad at all.

I miss Korea and the food there...(except for 3 of the things above). Congrats to the 3 people who guessed right! Hope you enjoyed this weeks question. Have a great day!

The answer and the story behind my question of the week...

My question of the week was: How many licks did it take me to get all of the candy off of a tootsie pop? The correct answer is...1118!!

The following is a true story...

It all started when I was on the tour bus to drive 3 hours south of Salt Lake City. I was in high school, and we were going on a 3 day stake youth activity down to the R & R Ranch. One of my friends gave me a tootsie pop, and I thought, "hey, we have 3 hours to do nothing, so why don't I just lick all of the candy off to the tootsie pop." I don't know why I just didn't see how many licks it took to get to the center of the tootsie pop. Perhaps it was my original plan to lick to the center, but I do not remember. Anywho....So I counted for real...and it took me exactly 1118 licks to get all of the candy off of the tootsie pop so that only the tootsie roll part was visable! I know, I have no life, but what can I say?...I was in high school.

Thanks to all who participated this weeks poll. Congrats to the two who got it right! Your reward is....a big old pat on the back...(as I didn't not prepare any real reward). Perhaps one day I see how long it take me to get to the center.

Have a great day!

My Blog Background

If any of you were wondering what my background is supposed to be, it is Hogwarts. I found it on-line and thought I'd put that on my blog. I thought it was a flippin' sweet drawing of Hogwarts! Anyway....just if anyone were wondering.

If any of you want to read a good, easy reading book, I'd recommend either The Tale of Despereaux or Crispin the Cross of Lead. I read them in my Children's Literature class and really enjoyed them. Hope you all have a great day!!!

My first real post

So Becca got me started on my own blog. It's actually kind of fun to do. I apologize right now if I put anything annoying or anything stupid on this!

Today is Sunday. It was a great day. We went to two baby blessings today (both in the same ward). Becca's brother's both blessed their babies today. Then we ate lunch at Steve and Andrea's house. Then we came home and we all took a short nap and then we played with Cameron.

I'm going to go read Harry Potter 6 now. What a great book. I would recommend to anyone who hasn't read any of the the Harry Potter books, to do so. They are great!
